These beautifully handcrafted grey and cream patterned hamper/baskets are made by the amazing Wolof women artisans in rural Senegal with woven cattails. Over 100 women craft these beautiful baskets. bringing much-needed income to help support their families. You can use it as a hamper or store blankets in it, or just as a colorful, accent decorative piece.
This modern African artistry entails weaving in the coil style by binding dried cattail stalks with plastic strips salvaged from a Dakar mat factory.
