These beautifully handcrafted hampers showcase the talent of rural Turkana basket weavers in dry northern Kenya. The doum palm, also known as the gingerbread tree, grows throughout the Turkanalands and produces long leaf stalks that can be harvested regularly for basket weaving. Since trucking the baskets down to Nairobi can be a complicated process, baskets are sold as a nesting set to efficiently preserve space. These durable storage baskets are crafted with heirloom quality, serving beautifully in any room of the home for years.

Sold as a set of three baskets with assorted arrow designs woven in dyed chestnut brown fiber. Because these are handcrafted baskets, each may vary slightly.
