This repurposed feed bag messenger is perfect for work. It's padded for a computer and has separate compartments for files, pens etc. The handles tuck away and the strap is removable so you can carry it by hand or on your shoulder.

The story of these bags began in the rural farmlands of Cambodia where a local woman decided to take action in her community. Farmers were not only living in poverty but also in a toxic environment. This woman noticed that the bags used for processing and shipping of fish and animal feed, cement, and other products were piling up and not being disposed of properly. She began purchasing the discarded materials from the communities and recycling them. She then employed local families to wash, dry, and sew the materials into durable, water-resistant, and colorful tote bags.
Since then, they have developed relationships with more artisans in Cambodia and are now employing Artisans from communities who have been displaced from their farmlands or affected by landmines or polio.

By using natural and recycled fabrics, they save energy and reduce the number of pollutants in the environment. Packaging materials, stationery, and hangtags are also 100% recycled and printed with natural dyes.

I've only been using the messenger bag for a few days - so, I can't comment on it's longevity. But it appears sturdy and well-made. I love the comfort of the across the body style. So much more comfortable than what I was using. And, I've gotten compliments on it's "coolness". And, honestly, it IS cool. And as a vegan, it's one of the nicer non-leather messenger bags out there. Pricey...maybe, but worth it.
